“I am Love, search for me!”
Taken from the diary of St. Faustina in 1931, she describes her heavenly encounter with Jesus and receives these instructions, “Paint an image according to the pattern you see” with the inscription: “Jesus, I trust in You!”
I have a copy of the “Divine Mercy” image hanging on the wall next to my desk; my prayer room area when I cannot pray in the outer chapel due to weather issues. This print copy came to me in a most unusual way.
During a time of trial, I was praying for assistance. On the same day, I received a call to see if I wanted this framed picture for my wall. The print belonged to another who passed on. The image and frame were going to be thrown into a dumpster. My response was, “Yes, I will take it!”
This piece of spiritual art came to me as a gift via God in my search and holds great meaning for me.
If I am perplexed during the day, I can turn to the right and the words are front and center: “Jesus I trust in you.” It really helps me on those days when my faith wavers or my trust level is off kilter.
We are all good at producing spiritual fog that blinds our sight. Even if the fog is thick or day is grey, never give up. Your spirit cries out, “My God, search me!”
Awaken that part of you that is dormant. The search for God’s Love is the gift of life eternal.
It is in God’s Love where one will find truth, “In your search for me, you will find you!”
“Before the universe began; from all eternity, Christ was in God. Since the birth of humanity, he dwelt among us and remains alongside each person.” (Brother Roger)
“You never saw him, yet you Love him. You still don’t see him, yet you trust him!” (1 Pt. 1:8)
