On the Horizon of Doubt

“The boat was in the middle of the sea and was being battered by the waves, for the wind was against them.
Shortly before dawn Jesus came to them, walking on the sea.
When His friends saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified and said, “It’s a ghost!” And they screamed in terror.
Immediately Jesus said to them, “Have courage! It is I. Stop being afraid!”
Peter answered him, “Lord, if it’s you, order me to come to you on the water.”
Jesus said, “Come on!” So Peter got down out of the boat, started walking on the water, and came to Jesus. But when he noticed the strong wind, he was frightened. As he began to sink, he shouted, “Lord, save me!”
At once, Jesus reached out his hand, caught him, and said to him, “You who have so little faith, why did you doubt?”
As they got into the boat, the wind stopped blowing.” (Matthew Chapter 14)
Now that you have been rescued, what will you do?
Will you swim to shore, embracing the new horizon of the day, or will you wallow in that which does not serve on any level?
Doubt eats away at the very core on one’s Spirit. It sets up an ease of dissension and mistrust in others, believing that things will never be quite right again.
This doubting belief is out of the contrary and goes against the grain of the goodness of God, and what he wants for each of his children.
Now, take a moment, look closer at the shoreline. What do you see?
Do you see light in the midst of it all? Do you see hope in the dawn of a new tomorrow?
Will you embrace that which is calling you to it?
“I am telling you child that I am always around you. When you doubt, give it to me.” (30 Messages of Hope, page 8)
